Title: Eml light / code 89
Post by: tigers_gonads on 28 February 2012, 21:06:32
As above

Driving on lpg / 15 mph / 3rd gear, above code stored.

Had a look at the live data

O2 sensor 1 is 0 - 700 mV ish
O2 sensor 2 is 449 mV static  :(

Engine warmed up and running on lpg.
Idleing about 700 rpm

Am I right in thinking that O2 sensor 2 / cylinder bank 2,4,6 is breaked ?

normally they toggle between 0-1000 milivolts (or less) and slow down when they are old ..
swap the sensors..

Swapped for one off a scrapper and now switching nicely  :y :y

Just one thing  :-\
Noticed when I had the code reader running, there was alot on there about "block measurements".

What is all that about and does anything need re setting other then the stored fault code ?

Block learn values are the modification factors which are learn't by the ECU.

Have I seen it on here in the past where it can be reset after component replacement so it learns any new values  :-\

Or am I talking 'dangle berries' here  ;D ;D

Yes, they can be reset.

Often there a good indication of issues (and poorly setup LPG systems is a classic) as they are modified based on Lambda sensor feedback and hence poorly setup LPG systems can cause them to drift to an end point and raise a code (against the Lambda sensor!).

They can also drift due to issues on the petrol side but, this is much less common.

I haven't drove the car yet but on live data, the sensors seemed to be switching ok now  :-\

Should I remap the lpg or just drive it and see how it goes ?

Also how do I reset it if needed ?
The code reader I use is the one that Jimbob and quite a few members use  ;)

I would see what happens WRT re-mapping the LPG as long as it looks OK ;)

Thanks all  :)

Has anybody got a good lambda sensor for a 3.0L Elite they would sell to us?
We also have code 89 stored.

Right, just been to pick swmbo up from work and it is much smoother and pulls like a train on both petrol and lpg  :y

Happy days  ;D
