The key fob on my Omega has been broken for a while, the batterly holder keeps coming out.
It has now got to the point where it will not repair, but I have a Vectra so i tried this, as I heard the fobs are the same.
Fits fine, but will not sync to the Omega. Are they different or do I have a problem with my car?
Thanks
Craig

A fob needs to be programmed specifically to your car, ............. re-sync'ing is completely different.

Need completely programming for the central locking?
I know through experience on 5 Vectras that once you sync a new fob it programmes it, not the key just the central locking.
Is this not the case on the Omegas??

You can't just 're-sync' A N Other fob to A N Other Vectra/Astra/Omega by pressing 'close' on the key with the ignition on .......... ??? ??? ??? ???

Sure I swapped one from an SXI Vec to an LS. Confused now haha.
So I gotta take it to Vauxhall then?

Its not you mate, no one knows where Lincoln is ;D ;D
I know where there is a nearer one but when I asked them to diagnose a fault on the car (knock sensors) he couldn't operate the thing.
This was not Vx but an Independent, so Mark every time :y :y

I should be able to repair the old one.
No idea where the re-sync programs a new fob myth comes from as it wont work on any Vx cars!

The chips for the immobiliser and sits in the key horseshoe not the fob. ???
Dave DND is an ICE specialist not an Omega key specialist :o
