Is there any way to get rid of the icy roads warning message permanently?
As I live in a country that can have ice/snow up to 8 months a year,
I know very well that the roads can be slippery. I dont need a reminder popping up
every bl**dy time I start the car and up to several times during long drives.
Clicking it away all the time bugs the hell out of me.
Guess I could do something with the outside temperature sensor,
but it is probably used by engine management and climate control too.
And even if its not I would prefer keeping the temperature indicator,
and just disable the warnings if possible....

I've been wondering the same as OP, blinking temp reading and pressing the stalk button is driving me nuts :D
Would imagine that this is programmable feature :-\

Yup. Otherwise we have to move further south in Europe. But i rather like it here... :D

Just a thought, but if your not worried about outside temp, why not move the temp sensor to inside the engine bay where its warmer, that way when the engines cold you will still get the initial ice warning but will stop when the cars warmed up.
Not sure what effect this will have on the climate control though.

Well, it still is good to know the outside temp but blinking numbers on MID is the problem. And, it would not stop blinking with this method...
I'm quite sure it's programmable, but someone with TechII should check and confirm this.

But still it would blink and I'd have no idea of the outside temp so to just stop it blinking it's easier to put tape on display :-X
I'm quite sure there is a parameter in the ecu to tell the display when to blink.

For you then, probably would not work, not sure how you would know the outside temp with tape over the display, but bearing in mind my post was for the OP, who stated He didn't care what the outside temp was as its -something most of the year.
