Morning all,
When i fit my new suspension what other componants are worth replacing at the same time? Top mounts, any bushes etc...?

Top mounts are a bugger because the suspension has to be completely dismantled to check them. Both the rubber lump and it's internal baring needs checking for pitted races. The ball bearings wear a dip in the races in the straight ahead position where they spend most of thier life with all the weight of the car on them.
Bushes. Well, need I go on? Polly fronts with a good genuine or Lemforder rearward bush at the front give best results. Rear donuts, might be worth hanging on for the result of the polly progect with these.

In fact now is the time to check everything else.
Plus, I found the suspension can take a month or so to settle down to its eventual ride hight. So if you can, do the work on old tyres, let it settle for a month or two, then get it set up. This means being very carefully setting up the camber when re fitting, and measuring the original camber setting in order to replicate it after the work, hence the guide, if that helps?
If its set up immediately after new suspension is fitted. Those settings will only be correct for a month or two, as it will sag out if spec as the springs settle, and wear the tyres odly until re set up again.

Seems correct, but personally, I've had nothing but agro from even the simplest of first line parts. Even filters. Given the work and cost involved is it worth skimping there? Febi at a minimum I'd say, if they do them of course.
Rear top shock mount seem fairly bullet proof. GM shocks don't seem to come with new ones, though, where as b4 do. What do you have?
Rear typically involves springs shocks and donuts.... the odd dif block to chassis failure, but theses are dead easy to swap out.

I'll be going to my local Vauxhall dealer to get any necessary top mounts, those ones on eBay were just for an example really.
I'm on your waiting list for the Powerflex bushes as i'd like to upgrade and replace as and when they become avaliable :y

Might pay to compare prices between vx and allgermanparts for top mounts. Both made by Lemforder, fairly sure. Allgermanparts usually cheaper for the same part. "usually"

Given yours is estate, how does the weight limit match up for rear axle? 1290kg, is that a lot for a max weight limit? How much is that? I'm crap with weights.
Also given the range of shocks and springs vx have for various engines, I'm suprised they list the same parts for all engines from 2.0 up to 2.5TD...? :-\
I might check that with them tbh.

the b12's will give excellent handling and firm everything up along with the lowering BUT wont they give a very harsh/hard ride ??
