Bought some 48 LED 3.5 W " warm white" GU10 downlighter bulbs yesterday to see if they were suitable for replacing the 50W items that are bankrupting me .
Oh dear, what an awful depressing light at night , everyone looks jaundiced !
Now looking into it there are alternatives with power ,no of leds and day white colouring options.
Anybody fitted GU10 LED's that are a TRUE alternative to normal 240 50W bulbs ?
These will have to go >:(

Not quite your problem, but along the same lines ....
When we replaced halogen lights with LED's in the 'van, we had major problems with the colours .. warm white = pale yellow , sharp white = drug addict toilet blue, cool white = still too blue for me.
As our light units had 2 X halogen bulbs in each I eventually used 1 x cool + 1 X warm in each .. not ideal but it worked.... ish.
Luckily the new 'van has decent lighting already .. :)

There isn't such a beast to my knowledge (and I've seen quite a few in my time).
If the cost of running them is concerning you, you can always fit a dimmer switch.

Your not going to get illumination from LED's of any type......yet.
There not able to give a decent broad spectrum light, even the latest ones which have internal phosphors to broaden the spectrum.
The closest you will get is the ones which are based around compact florry technology.
But, remember this, Halogens are more efficient than the standard filament lamps........so if you can tolerate a little less light then consider a dimmer.
