Why i ask?
been reading through all several threads and looks like several of you have summer wheels.
is this because you can have different tread on the tyres?
or cos they dont get as dirty??

different tyre design for cold wet weather (softer grippier in wet - harder for summer)
bit of a luxury if you ask me - good alrounders will do i've got no room left in garage for another set of alloys ;)

I have a summer and winter wheels, my summer wheels are polished alloy, they look as though they are chrome, if i use these in winter they can become pitted due to the road salt.

Some of the people in more remote areas have snow tyres on steel wheels which allows the use of snow chains.
Some areas of the UK do get quite a bit of snow, sadly not here though :(

That`s me: M & S deep-tread set (and snow chains at hand too) for our mountain-cold months and a less 'tready' set for the summer......`half hour`s work to swap `em over. :y

M & S are good for the nice gravel stages er, I mean roads around north wales to.....

Sadly it's always chucking it down when I get there :(
Last time I was blatting there in the Westfield my right foot was the only dry part of me. (wiper stalk was leaking onto my left shin and running down into me shoe). So, I park the car and step out - into a puddle. >:(
Did get a clear run up the Llanberis pass without meeting a coach or a caravan though. :y
