Need one urgently - anyone have a spare?

If it's what i'm thinking. B&Q, Plumbing section. I know it's copper pipe & looks a bit naff, but hey it's got me outa bother a few times. Until you can find a proper part.

ANy idea how well alradite rapid will last in the cooling system?
-
Should be OK. It was holding the thermostat housing together on my Morris Ital for years. :-X
Actually, the rapid stuff might be a bit sensitive to heat. :-/ Check the packaging. J-B weld would do it for sure.
Give it a gentle bake in the oven for a few hours to make sure it's gone off properly. Not too hot - 100 degrees C is fine.

Err copper to nylon - nylon is the remains and copper off a bit of pipe in the garage.
LEft it on hte radiator though.
One advantage of a poor thermostat

Do you use milliput for modelling, think it's supposed to be good for stuff like that.

Amine resins (such as Araldite rapid) aren`t best suited to applications involving sudden temperature changes.....differential expansion and poor surface adhesion will probably do-for such a bonded joint in a short time.
Araldite slow is a better Alipahatic resin and might last longer under such circumstances if attention is paid to thorough roughing/degreasing of the bond-area surface, and with sufficient cure-time and postcure thermal tempering. :y

dunno the chemistyr but I rebuilt a Ford Mk1 Faceleift capri gearbox with Super epoxy, lasted about a year....
:D

I'd go for J-B Weld but I'm not sure how the nylon bit would stand that !!! :(
-
Hopefully it will get to the DIY stores, tempted to try Surrey

Just had an email Bernard has them in stock
-
After two miles it blew apart
Glue melted
Bernard will pick one up from Honeybourne, then my boss will pick it up from his house and drop it off with me.
A nightmare
Now we have a cat stalking the garden :(
