For the first time in what seems forever, we are able to go away this year SLIGHTLY out of school holiday time..Namely the very first two weeks of July.
Would dearly like to go Stateside again but won't have the money to be worthwhile....so am interested in any ideas, from personal experiance where in Europe
we should perhaps be looking.
Done the France/Germany and Austria thing so am looking more towards flying off on a late deal "all inclusive". Two adults and daughter (16), the latter to whom, "Europe is boring"..
Any ideas would be appreciated as a guideline.

Hi Duggs, I've been to Olu Deniz in Turkey for the last couple of years and found it to be reasonably priced as they're not using the Euro yet. Slightly out of Europe I know, and a 4 hour flight, but well worth it. Olu is a lovely place, plenty of bars and restaurants, lots of things to do if you like sightseeing, and watching the paragliders come down from the mountains whilst sunbathing is a great thing to see. Maybe have a look at Trip Advisor Forum, plenty of advice on there.

Turkey,Marmaris is great been there about 6 times, sevice is great they really want YOU to enjoy your stay.Beach loungers are free (and padded) as long as you spend a little money in their bar,(waiter service on the beach) and not a bad beer either.
The only downside is the local shops hassle you,but tell them that you are all inc.
Alfie.

You couold always come to my country.
Probably not as cheap as Turkey, probably less crowded and more cleaner,
Great food, great nature etc, 8 national parks etc.
Number of low cost companies fly here (easyjet, germanwings)
Was working with a number of foreigners on my last job(French, english, italians)
Every single one of them regreted leaving, and definitely gained some weight while staying here ;D).

If I could afford a holiday I wouldn't mind trying Croatia

Careful, they were lobbing artillery shells at each other the last time I was there. ;D
Didn't get to see much apart from out the truck windscreen but it looked a really beautiful place.

CaptainZok that was almost twenty years ago. :D

May not be to everyone's taste but we have booked one week all inlcusive for 5 people in Paguera Mallorca (Majorca) Paguera is a predominatly German resort and is mainly filled with overweight Germans. That said there is no drunks at all hours of the night and is virtually silent from midnight to 7am when deliveries start.
We have toured quite a bit of western europe, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria and a bit of Holland. Went to mainland Spain Malgrat De Mar and did not like it at all. The spanish seem very different to Mallorcans, at least they do to me.
First rule of any holiday for me is don't go anywhere where the drunken British go. Then again if you just want to get drunk then go where the drunken Brits go :y
Should add flying from Southampton airport which is 3 miles from my house so no nasty drives to Gatwick/Heathrow etc.

thanks for all recommending my country :y :y :y

Canary Islands. Never been but heard good reports. Belonging to Europeans, but far enough away from mainland Europe it should please your daughter.

Duggs,
Ölüdeniz have better temperature range and there is always a small wind which protects you from boiling ;D
Antalya is also nice but hot as a hell.. another place Kuşadası but the sea is not like Ölüdeniz..

I went to Marmaris (Turkey) last september with my wife and 2 daughters.
We could have had an activity day every day if we'd wanted to and at about £15 max each it's very cheap to do.
We opted for about 4 days out over the 2 weeks we were there and spent the rest on the beach or by the pool.
We found that the people there were very friendly and could'nt do enough for us. It was impossible to find a bad restaurant to eat in - they were simply all good with some being even better. Most will offer to come to your hotel and collect you, and drop you home at the end of the evening, all for free.
The beaches were clean and the sea was very warm and crystal clear. As mentioned before the sun loungers are usually free as long as you order a (usually inexpensive) round of drinks from the adjacent bar/restaurant.
We stayed at the other end of town from the main party area (bar street) so it was always quiet, even though we were a 5 min leisurely walk from the beach. The only thing that disturbed us was the 7.30 am call to prayers - I can think of worse things to be woken by!
The real clincher was the price though - it was cheaper than anywhere else!

Just come back from Riga (Latvia). Was awesome. but prob not for a 16 year old.
Varna on the coast of bulgaria was awesome. and cheap.
budapest. zagreb. sarajevo (i'm not joking). all these places are quality :)

Zagreb is the capitol of my Country.
Definitely not a place where you want to go in the summer.
If you choose to come here go to coastline.
Better to go Dalmatia than Istra(which is overcrowded, more expensive and sea can get a bit dirty in some parts).
Dubrovnik and Hvar are fashionable but tend to be expensive since lots of rich guests come there.
Although they are nice to visit on one or two days stay.
Trogir is very popular (Eclestones, Abramovic and also other jet setters come there every summer) but not too expensive.
My town is also becoming more popular again.
But here in the summer choice is enormous because coastline is pretty long.
Coastline is beautiful anywhere you go, just choice depends on what type of holliday you are after for (rest, sun and sea or partying adventure or similar)
Personally here I would choose Mljet or Kornati for a quiet family holliday.
Look them up on th internet if you want to.

Whats your budget? Me & Mrs T hired a very nice Vila in the Portuguese Algarve. Flight, Villa & a car came in just over 500 beer tokens each.
Something cheaper, I found Slovenia excellent. Lake Bled up the road is just stunning, great people there, food and its quite cheap.

if you decide to come to Ölüdeniz, please dont forget to ask the location and pictures from the hotel..some are very close to seashore,
some are a bit distant.. also there are cheaper hotels in Hisarönü region (really cheap) but you need to use a midi-bus ..

a very good place and same climate and weather like Fethiye.. and they are very close locations.. The difference is Ölüdeniz is a natural lagoon and inner shores are very shallow (outer shores are deep).. Pine forest also very nice.. but somehow I have always been atrracted by Ölüdeniz.. :y
