Title: F.A.O Admin re: Signature constraints
Post by: Martian on 11 March 2012, 14:45:43
Any chance of upping the maximum amount of letters allowed in the siggys please guys?

I'm trying to add a siggy which consists of 4 lines of text totalling 248 characters, but that can't be done at the moment due to the 205 character limit (which is a bit tight when compared to any other forum IHMO).

As I don't use a signature I vote for its complete removal!  ::) ::) ;)

4 lines? That is as long as many of the shorter posts so I will stay on the fence about that one...... :-\

I hate text speak with a passion.

Tried that, but a 30 pixel height limit results in the text being too small to read  :(

The guidelines say 3 lines of text.  Admittedly not everyone follows it.

I know many over forums allow larger signatures, but it runs the risk, as with most other forums, of the thread getting lost in the sigs.

It's meant to be a signature...not an essay.  ;)

I was initially disappointed that the scrolling text in sigs was disabled. But later realised that the focus of attention is supposed to be the post itself.

A lot of other forums it's difficult to pick out the conversation amongst all the other crap surrounding it.
