How very sad and worrying that this has happened :'(

not the first and the last .. :(

I am surprised it doesn't happen more. No amount of training preares everyone for the horror of war.
In days of yore of course it wouldn't be reported.
here is a thing. The Americans spend annually more on war than all other nations agregated.
They engage in a new war every 1year 3months on average.

Especially when a republican president holds the reins.... :-\

I can see this getting out of hand very quickly.
Talk about scoreing a own goal >:(

Couldn't be worse... From every angle. :(

Yep, done us no good at all...... :( :( :(

I believe I am right in saying that the US has only had one year of "peace" since late 1941. Sad really.

US and their soldiers have lost the public in Vietnam, long time ago.. so nothing will change..
similiar things happened in Iraq and in many places.. who will ask for it ? United nations or International Justice court ? bah.. useless organization..

Very sad it happened YES, but I can understand the why when another large group were wiped out by yet another bombing incident. Funny though that all the 'natives' think about us revenge. Being an ex squaddie I can say that all that will achieve is probably a return in kind at some point by another disgruntled soldier who has seen his close mates wiped out.
I am beginning to think that whole population of that backwater country is not worth a toss and everyone should just leave them to it to eventually eradicate themselves and do the world a favour by doing so.
As for the bleeding hearts do-gooder, add yourselves to their poulation and stay there! :y
There will never be any sympathy from me for this issue because at the end of the day once again it is religion that started the so called war and there is no end in sight.

Im sure they would be quite happy with that outcome. We did invade the country after all.We werent invited over for tea and buns.
Not sure how religion started this war tbh. :-\

I think we (nato) saw it as a buffer, believing that if we could get the afghans to turn against Al Qaeda and the taliban, it would slow down the rate of people turning into extreemists and trying to cash in on the promise of all those virgins by blowing themselfs and anybody else up.
Not like I can see it happening when the yanks have been filmed with there d*cks out pishing on dead bodies, burning the koran and this latest episode

Sadly, they don't appear to understand "hearts and minds". :(

Tell me about it :(
On one hand you have the yanks destroying any trust that may have been built up and then you have the taliban who will go and throw battery acid in a young girls face because she dares to go to a school and try and learn >:( >:(
The afghan people don't know who to believe or trust anymore
-
ok.. here are the facts..
Taliban : bunch of ignorant dirty primitives.. most of them even dont know what they read and what they believe..marry together the girsl of age 8-9.. nothing on earth can change their minds , even if you blow up their heads.. Russians tried and gave up ;D (at that time US was giving them best of guns )
US soldiers : they really dont know what the hell is happening in those hostile lands.. and the regions culture and civilizations is 500 years behind them.. but killing all the Afghans is not the solution apparently.. and furthermore its not their war which I said many times..
and political facts: US searching/cleaning for Al queda and extremists in that region is pure 'dangle berries'.. everyone interested with politics know that the region is very close to oil fields and controls the back door/mountain passages to Asia and Russia .. so US wants control over it.. no matter what the costs is.. all other reasons are secondary..

Sad to hear. :'( As I see no matter where the US president comes from till the weapon lobby so strong. They donate the campaign of both party and absoutely no bothered by final result. Really effective tactics. Anyway as I read the questioned soldier recently had some mental problem and was under observation for some time. His psycho trainer is a hidden taliban ? :o

Cem - I cant disagree with a word of that. ;)
Time the U.S starting learning from the mistakes they have made previously ?

The Americans also have a habit if calling their muslim adversaries 'religious fanatics'. Have you heard the shite that comes out of the mouths of the right-wing bible bashers in the US? They make Osama Bin Laden sound like a sunday school teacher.

30 years ago, we trained the Taliban how to fight using our modern techniques, then sold them hardware to use against the Russians.....who just happen to have been trying to do the same thing we're doing now!
Bet the Russians are laughing their arses off at us in the West now ??? ???
