Title: Next Gen Xbox will have no optical drive

Microsoft have been telling its partners that the next generation Xbox will not be fitted with any optical drive but will have some sort of solid state cartridge system and online downloading.

Will no drive will there be any backward compatibility to the current generation of games and how will it work?

What do all you Xbox owners think?

Old news, been rumoured for months, and am sure announced to developers weeks ago.

I think the PS3 fiasco shows that backwards compatibility is unimportant

Your probably be able to buy a stand alone drive. A way to make more money
