Title: Top of the range Diesel ?
Post by: GSWH on 16 March 2012, 19:42:47
Hi

Interested in buying another Omega - has to be the 2.5 BMW Turbo Diesel model, probably 1994 - 2000. What is the top spec model ('Elite', possibly?) and what toys/features would the car have over and above lesser models?

Thanks in anticipation of your help :)

Elite :y

That TD lump is best suited to manual gearboxes, not autos.

Problems specific to that engine - 4.5k oil interval is ignored by many, causing problems. Wrecks autoboxes at 120-150k. Silts main rad around 120-150k. It clatters like a diesel ;D

I service my td every 10 to 15k, I've own it for 6 years, there is over 180k on the clock and it has never let me down..
In my opinion they are probably the most reliable omega.
