Hi guys! Really need your help for this one. The car and spanner light fault always appear whenever I drive my Omega 2002 2.2 auto and gone whenever I switched off the engine. Brought my Megan to Halfords service centre for wheel alignment and emmission test and some check ups because I thought that I'm having problem with my exhaust and/or cat converter ( reason for the car spanner light ) and the result is they said the front wishbone must be changed ( RED flag) and the 2 rear disc brakes and pads and also a cell of the car battery is dead so have to replace as well. Everything except for the battery cost me £400 ( gave me managers discount of £75 ) and I said I will just change the battery myself, so bought a nice bosch battery and also said to myself why not change the spark plugs as well, so bought a bosch super4 plugs as well. So prepared everything and disconnect and unscrew anything that needs to come out and after I pull out the coil pack to my surprise 2 rubber sleeves are cracked and broken and the 4 sleeves and 4 plugs are soaked with oil! I cleaned it and put the new plugs and battery.
What do you guys think of that massive oil? Is it just because of the cracked rubber sleeves or something else? Please help and thanks a lot. Cheers!

i would hazzard a guess at this and say it is the cam cover gasket, and you might need a new coil pack aswell,as they dont like being soaked in oil :y
-
as already stated sure bet its your cam cover gasket. would advise replacing with genuine gm gasket and black sealant imo :y

Hi Mr Jude,
I am new to the Omega, and my vehicle has loads of problems, and one of them was the Cam Cover Gasket.
i had never attempeted anything like this, and following the guides on OOF i accomplished easy. however, after replacing the gasket, my coil pack started to give me problems to, and i had to get a new one, well to tell the truth i got a second hand one for £35 and it works a treat, and yet my sparking plug holes are oil free

Your main vauxhall dealer will do a replacement kit for your coil pack springs and rubber boots for less than £20....which is what i did as two rubber boots on mine were breaked.. :y

Yep replaced the boots on mine too, i think it cost me £16.00 ish :y

Dealer only for this part, do not use pattern parts on this particular job. Needs o-rings as well.
