This just dropped off

Does is serve any significant purpose? I found it wrapped around the front tyre.

Usually they just get jubilee clipped to stop them rattling

It looks like there is actually four of them. Top and bottom of each pipe. Is it essential or purely cosmetic?

Vauxhall take great pride in their cars, Mr Tunnie. ::) ::) ::) ;) I have along trip ahead of me tomorrow........  I don't want anything becoming too hot.

They are heat-shields and designed to keep the heat in so your cats can warm up quicker as cats are more efficient the hotter they are - they eventually rust-up and fall off anyway so no great loss.
