Title: Fitting LPG
Post by: doz on 17 March 2012, 21:08:49
Now I know naff all about LPG except how to make it (Work in a oil refinery) I'd like to fit a system to the Mig however I don't have the cash to buy new and I'd have to undertake the work myself. So questions are

1/ Pit falls of buying second hand?
2/ What systems to avoid?
3/ If I fit it how do I get it commissioned?
4/ What sort of money am I looking at for a system bearing in mind I've got a 3lt
5/ Are there any draw backs to using LPG on the migs?

Cheers all. I'd class my spanner skills as advanced. How long would it take to fit?

1 don't, not worth he agro
2 use the stag kit, we all have it, mostly
3 you need safety cirtification from a Uklpga approved installer
4 pm lazy docker on here
5 not really. Longer switch over times in winter maybe...?

A weekend with 3 people to fit.

A couple of weekends realistically.

See the guides section for LPG install

Gotta agree with chrisgixer's replies above.

Expect a Stag setup from Lazydocker's supplier to cost less than a grand to buy and certify (assuming you fit it correctly)

As above. Stag kit (new), DIY Fitted (look at the guides), get it inspected, enjoy cheap motoring.

I'd be very surprised if the bill was close to £1k and there is plenty of support here :y
