Title: ABS light on
Post by: danzigfan on 19 March 2012, 12:43:21
Hi guys, sadly ABS light blinks from time to time and speed/rpm gauges drop dead when this hapens.
Is it definately an ECU issue or maybe abs sensor going?
Any advice is welcome because I've just changed oil and need car for a long trip....
Thanks :-[

would need the abs to be read but look at the back sensors and clean the cogs make sure there is no muck between them.

Thanks, just a question more, are those sensors the ones just by the drive shafts?

Thanks, I'll update the results

I had the same problems that you mention, it turned out to be the ABS ECU. even though it wasn't symptomatic of an ECU failure it was! Pleased if it is a sensor / sensor wire though  :y

ABS sensors are clean now, been really dirty and greasy, time will show what to expect.
Thanks again

Your clearly more 'able' than me Rob, I spent 4hours of sweat, blood, tears and dropped nuts/sockets changing mine. Prey to god that I don't have to replace it again. (if it fails again I know who to turn to now!)
