Title: How Much is my 3.2 Really Worth?
Post by: edwardmickey on 31 March 2008, 10:29:15
Been trying to sell my 3.2 elite on a 52 plate with 99k miles.

Fully serviced, superb condition.  Last asking price on Autotrader was £3,995.

Surely it's worth that?  If not, how low do I have to go?

Only selling it cause of ripper brown and fuel duty.  Can't justify the running costs - no doubt the same issue for potential buyers....

As for tax from next march............ Goodybye Labour, hello - Conservatives (who are gonna be new, new labour)   :-/

It's a sad state of affairs. I don 't know if the tax changes in 2009 have hiot home with m ost people yet. Price of petrol doesn't help though.

Is it worth doing an LPG conversion and keeping it?

As you know, I bought mine (6 months older, but with less miles) from AutoTrader for £2,300.

Good news for me, but not for you I understand that bud :(

Glass's guide says
52 plate with 56000 miles
trade in 4475   retail 6500.
take 1300 off both prices for the excess miles you are left with
Bottom book 3175 top book 5200.
As we all know the value of large petrol engined cars are plummeting for exactly the reasons you give. Somewhere inbetween is the price to go for. Obviously any bodywork or mechanical issues will affect the price.
Hope this helps.

Oh I nearly forgot - when the various political parties come knocking at your door asking for your vote remember to tell them what you think of the budget changes, politely of course. And don't forget to vote, the turnouts are usually quite low, vote for whoever you think best, just remember the £415 to tax the Miggy next year and how much you might lose on it. When you work hard and pay your taxes you should not be stuffed in this manner.

As you have found out, the value of these has plummetted dramatically, moreso due to fatty's bum bandit in No 11.

The increase in cost of living and mortgages has caused many to not look for replacement cars - can tell from the used car place around where I work that customers are staying away.

If you're in a hurry to sell, I think you may struggle to make £3k - its a 6yr old 100k car with a thirst for fuel and a big tax bill next month.

Personally, the most I'd offer now is £1k less than last time  :'(
