...to commit criminal damage to push forward their views?
Extract:
"School-run mothers driving Chelsea tractors are to be targeted tomorrow by environmental protesters.
Copying tactics used in Edinburgh recently, the eco-warriors plan to deflate the tyres on 4x4's using mung beans and plaster windscreens with stickers protesting against climate change."

And they will then smirk as the inner wing gives way leaving the front body panels on the pavement ;)

They don't - it IS criminal damage and you can have them arrested.

you can thank the anti 4x4 greenies for your Omega ved increasing. the more noise they make the more the politicians will see more ways to tax us of the road. Most thought it was a good idea to tax the 4x4s off the road, until the government broadened the scope of the tax to include other vehicles

Be very concerned when this government tries to ban something, even something like the smoking ban in pubs, might seam a good idea on the face of it but the knock on effect is huge. How long before alcohol is banned in pubs ? at the end of the day alcohol causes more problems than smoking, so it is the thin edge of the wedge, more is coming.
I admit I am scared of this government at the power it is wielding in the name of the environment.

I just hope we hurry up and build some more nuclear power stations. Give these tree huggers someone else to pick on.
.. and how do you deflate a tyre with a mung bean anyway? :-/

Hmm. Not familiar with such things. Probably because they're neither fermented nor hacked off a dead animal and chucked on a (CO2 generating) barbecue. ;D

I am the only one who has looked at a vegetarian meal and commented that would be nice with some chicken fillets/steak/whatever would work best.

What you need to do is make up some horrible smelling concoction :o, take the valve out of your tyre valve, pour in the liquid, replace valve and reinflate tyre, boy will they get a shock ;D.

I've put this in the readers comments section... Am I the only one, or has anyone else replied?
I appreciate everyone has the right to free speech and protest about things that upset them, but to let tyres down is nothing short of criminal damage.
I hope the courts will deal with these vandals severely.
Whether or not a 4x4 does give out more emissions does not give anyone the right to damage it.
What would be the reaction of the police if a car could not be moved because of this. To drive any vehicle on flat tyres will right the tyres off.
Who will pay?
The protesters? .... I doubt it!

it will be interesting to see how the authorities deal with it,these people used to be thought of as freaks and wierdos ,but they now seem to be a powerful and influential pressure group.on the other hand the folks in west london arent without influence either. :-/

Good response! If I had my kids in the car and I had loads of face-painted eco-warriors trying to deflate my tyres and put stickers on my windows, I might be tempted to break my golden rule of not swearing in front of the nippers. ::)
