Although qute partial to the Mig . . . .wouldn't say it was an old banger . . .newer than 66% of my cars and the newest isn't far behind.

Hahaha. What I meant was I don't recall seeing any on the road. I saw the pics - even my eyes aren't that bad (yet).

Ah! Gotcha! I've never seen a rag top MK II or III but I had a drive of a MK I ( thinking about it, it was 30 yrs ago  :o :o ...... I was at Whale Island because Fearless & Insipid were both at the Falklands .... how time flies  ??? ??? ??? ???) It made a better conversion really because it originally had a boot.  :y :y

the Capri was done by a company in Blackpool called top-hat . they did about 12 conversions and this one was the only 3lt manual ghia they did . the engine went bang on the M56 so fitted a rs3.1 in to it  :)

Bit of a Rover nut myself  ::) had a few SD1's - a cracking motor but poor quality build - along with P4's P5's and of course the P6  8) I currently still run a 75 Tourer 2.5 - BMW throw unlimited money at the 75 which Rover was not used too, so a cracking motor but was prone to engine failure in the 1.8 :(  but at the end of the day, I love my Omega  :y

Thanks for this, Manta for me, I owned 3 (the was a 2.0 SR which I wrote off straight after my test) I remember having a 1.8 Berlinetta after the 2.0 litre it had a 5 speed gearbox, lastly I replaced that with the 2.0 GTE, with fuel injection as well as a 5 speed box:-) Always remember the slot for the stereo was too small so it would always stick out. I wore out Madonna True Blue album in it!

They were good days, easy to service and never went wrong drove both for 1000s of miles, I was always a coupe man never a hot hatch, happy days back then, where did it all go wrong with motoring.

Ahh yes, a Crayford Engineering conversion.  There used to be a chap on my estate many years ago that had one of these for a short time, well before it got written off by a very large lorry.
