With a view to possibly LPGing her Lexus is 300 and checking fuel trims/live data. Does anyone know what the Lexus version of tech 2 is? And weather it's necessary over a generic obd2 live data capable jobys.
I have asked a couple of times on the Lexus forum ... ::)
-
Lexus owners struggle enough just putting fuel in. Anything more complicated and it's straight back to the garage :) :) I would of thought some thing like Jardin's "Engine check" will give the basics like Lamba readings and live read outs. Not sure on fuel trim.
-
Generic ODBII/EOBD with a live data functionality should be able to read fuel trims.
Sorry, don't know what the Lexus/Toyata dealer level diags kit is. Doubt any Lexus owners do either - they take it to a dealer :P
-
Might be worth a blast to Entwood, see what his ODBII scanner makes of it...

I have an OBDII lead if you want to give it a try? Not sure I've used it since you last borrowed it. :-[

Is that an ELM based one? The trouble with those, IMHO, is speed when using live data. Not sure why they are so slow, even using different software...
...but it would prove the point that the car presents trims to ODBII readers :y

Yep, ELM based. The problem is probably that the ELM chip defaults to a really dismal BAUD rate for comms with the PC. All software I've tried claims to support the higher BAUD rate, but fails to correctly jump through the hoops required to configure the chip to change rate. Then again, it could be that the chip itself is slow. More analysis required.
Something I might have a look into improving, actually, because I really fancy writing an application that can plot short term fuel trim against RPM and load.

Ditto - have a MaxiScan MS509 that reads live data & trims from the Omega, so I imagine it should from the Lexus.. feel free to borrow it :y

Chris, when I update the little box of tricks you brought up for me it should do it. It may have just been user error at the weekend :-[ ::)

Oh I started another thread in a Differant section yesterday. Not sure it was the most appropriate section tbh, but I get the feeling it won't really matter. :-X
But yes, some interesting characters ;D

Btw I can probably get access to a snap on ethos reader if necessary.

Bit like the 25 section of the Rover forum. If it wasn't bodykits and LEDs, no views ::)

I have a Solus pro and that will deffo do EOBD on the engine and give live data so the Ethos should as well :y
