I need your advice about how to remove the knob of the manual transmission gearchange lever of

Omega 2.0L 1996... and how to replace the rear gear ring (R)...

think not to sure as not done it, but you remove the top off the gear knob the bit with the position of gears.

I'm pretty sure they're just glued on ..... never had a manual though  ;)

Top knob pulls off, if you want to remove the plastic lever (Reverse Pull Up bit) then leather gator off, tweezers and torch required, in Neutral put your finger under the bottom plastic lever and lift up and hold it up and whilst doing that using the other hand shine the torch down inside the top steel hollow tube bit and your see a piece of plastic strip held in place with a metal pin, now with your third hand get the tweezers over the plastic bit and unhook it from the pin.

Good luck putting back together again, anything else is removed from under the car.

Not sure what you mean with the 'rear gear ring'
