Title: Is there such thing as a Prodrive MV6?
Post by: richardirv on 31 March 2008, 12:31:17
Was just browsing Pistonheads while bored at work as you do!

Come across this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/430925.htm and was a little skeptical, The car itself looks great but I have never heard of a Prodrive edition MV6, I have an MV6 and it has Prodrive stamped on the Spoiler etc but I don't expect it is anything more than who makes it and I wouldn't expect it to be a modified ECU etc. I may well be wrong though, I'm curious!

Anyone got any thoughts?

The spoilers are made by prodrive IIRC, that's all.

prodrive do styling kits for many cars but are most closely linked to subaru

they did a concept car that was tested on top gear

really like the brushed aluminium look of the MV6 alloys on it though!!

Yeah I agree, I might get mine done like that in a year or so, when I get bored of the powder coat on mine!

The wheels do look nice, but if you do go down this road, you'd need to make sure they were well lacquered to keep them nice. The salt on the road would wreck them eventually.

Nice car; he says that the body work is "far from perfect", but I can't see much wrong with it.

Not worth the full asking price though; I paid £2,300 for my 2001 3.2 Elite through Auotrader only a month or so ago and that was before the road-tax bombshell in the last budget which probably lost me a good 10-15% of it's value overnight.
