Hi All.
Finally got around to have my timing belt changed and all Running great except i have what i beleive is the service light on (car shape with a spanner accross it) and i dont understand why ?. we also fitted a new water pump and changed oil and filter at the same time. any clues on how to turn off would be great.

Cable trapped or something left disconnected. Do the pedal trick and post the codes

First and foremost ,..... it is NOT a "Service Indicator Light" .. it is commonly known as a "Malfunction Indicator Light" (MIL) .. or a warning that the electronics have detected a problem..

As you have a 2.6 you need to read and follow this ... where it refers to the PEDAL TRICK
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90581.0
This will give you the fault codes .. once you have them post up the numbers .. we'll take it from there ... :)

Thanks all for the quick responce to my problem. will try the paper clip trick at the weekend or sooner if possable and post the code Numbers if any. i dont think it can be anything major as the car is running perefectly :)

Done the pedal trick but does this sound right ?. The yellow light car symbol with a spanner through apears to flash 4 times fairly slowly then 9 times quickly does this sense ?? does 11119 sound right or are all codes 4 digits
-
Codes are 4 digits for yours .. did you watch the video which explains how it works ??
Pedal Trick
Foot on brake, gas pedal to the floor.
Turn on ignition to position II (do not fire the engine in position III)
When dash lights go out the yellow light car symbol with a spanner through it should flash.
4 sets of flashes/numbers pause and so on.
10 flashes is zero.
Constant flashing no codes.
