Not sure what you mean. Is the seat belt not able to be pulled out? Or it's not feeding back in? If not pulled out, it's connected to the button on the top of the seat that you press to lay the back down for loading etc. I used to have problems with my Astra estate, I used have to make sure that before laying the back down, I released some belt otherwise, when it was lifted back up the belt would lock up & not release. To get it to feed back in I'd unbolt the belt form under the seat base to give some slack, it would work OK then.

sounds like the static buckle is goosed.  Easy enough to get a replacement from a breaker for a couple of squids and 10 mins with a socket set to remove/replace....   :)

Sorry Andy, didn't explain it right, can't pull it out, think linkage is damaged between belt and catch, garage priced new about£180 and got to come from germany, got car back and will have a go myself over weekend, failing that will phone around scrappies.cheers for imfo,Terry

Try as I suggested then, and unbolt the belt from the floor under the seat to give more slack in the belt, it should allow the mechanism to be release the belt.  :-\
