I've always wondered what that lambda reading is all about. My LC only ever just scrapes through.

I've always wondered what that lambda reading is all about. My LC only ever just scrapes through.

Lambda is an estimate of the fuel-air ratio based on what's coming out of the exhaust. 1.0 represents a perfect "chemically correct" mixture of 14.7 parts of air to one of fuel.

It's there as a measure to ensure that closed-loop control of the fuel mixture via the lambda sensors is working properly.
