Time for some minor work over the weekend - rear brake pads need changing.
Rang local motor factors who quote about £13 - Mintex I think.
Rang Vauxhall dealer (cousin is a TC holder) - "Yes sir, £63 inc VAT, but they take 48 hours to deliver and please pay up front"
Aaarrggghhh.
Is he havin' me on ??

That isn't TC price, you should get discs and pads for about the price you've been quoted on TC
Edit maybe not on a 2.6 which has vented rears
-
Pads for vented rears are almost £50 IIRC (ex. VAT) and aren't on trade club, or you can buy TC rear pads for standard discs (much more cheaply) and re-use your (longer) pins, springs & back plates.
(Just ordered mine from AndyC all of five minutes ago, hence I can almost remember the price ;D)
Give AndyC a call.

So the only differnce is the pin length ?
He did ask if mine were vented but I said no 'cos I couldn't see holes in the surface (duh)
'Spose it helps to know your car eh ?

Seems to be - my previous set of (expensive!) vented pads (because I wanted the new pins & plates) went on a friend's DTi the other weekend, which has plain rear discs.. all we did was re-use his pins (once we'd managed to hammer the things out!).
I say 'pins' but after 9 years they looked more like long blobs of rust..

As you don't get the pins/spring with TC pads, any will do, vented or otherwise. The pads are identical. About a tenner. The TC website, as normal, is 'dangle berries'.
OE pads, loved by many, are around £60, and do come with pins/springs. Thus you need vented or non vented to match.
