Hi
Since I changed from automatic to manual, it has allways been jerky on the gearchanges, I have to work hard get a good gearchange.
Can it be the gearbox, or is it other parts?

How long have been driving auto's? When I returned to a 3 pedal car after about 15 years I found it took a few weeks before the fluidity of gear changes returned. :y

It has nothing to do with that, it's over half a year since the change.
I have another manual car as well, and I have borrowed cars ;)

Oh! :y :y :y ;D ;D

In other cars the gearchanges are easy
But in the omega it takes alot more work
I guess there some play in the driveshaft, gearbox, diff etc, but I don't know how much play is normal or how to know if somethings broken/worn
-
mine has been converted to manual and the gear shift is not as smooth ( through the gate ) as my mfl 3.0 factory manual i was wondering the same thing maybe a bush or the linkage ?
-
Um just a point to note, bad DMF can cause this, as it bangs to full movement rather than smoothly taking up the drive :-X
-
I was thinking the flywheel and have been thinking of a solid flywheel conversion....
-
Check the rubber do'nuts on the prop shaft
-
Yep, backlash anywhere in the transmission, engine and gearbox mounts, DMF, as said. A juddery clutch due to wear or contamination of the friction material perhaps. Difficult to diagnose further without experiencing it, though.
-
DMF= Dual mass flywheel?
I don't know the condition of it since I Bought it used, but i bought new clutch.
I'll check the donuts
If the bearing in the middle of the propshaft is bad, will that just noise or will it make symptoms like this?

It might well do, if it's no longer supporting the propshaft.

When i drive off and release the gas pedal it feels like something falls forwards and when i press the gas pedal again it feels like something falls backwards.
I'm guessing this it what makes it hard to change gear, what it can be?
-
Maybe a poor explanation, but it feels like something is sort of loose
-
classic dmf pointers!! the looseness is the two halves sliding round!
-
So it's very worn then?
How will the changes be if I insert a lightened smf?
-
i have a solid flywheel in mine get lots of transmission noise and still jerky changes you will probably be better off getting another DMF . think my problems are gear linkage related .

Bringing up this old post again
I have changed the DMF to a c20let SMF og i have changed a donut bush that was worn
But i'm still experiencing the roughness of the gearchanges, although the worst is when I let go of the accellerator and press it down again (I have to be extremely carefull for it not to jerk)
i'm also experiencing some alerting gearbox noises, when i'm idling (allthough i'm not sure if thats the clutch bearing or the gearbox itself, but it stops if i press the clutch)
Any ideas what can be the problem?

Usually symptomatic of a worn clutch release bearing ;)
-
If the noise stops clutch down then release bearing is the cause. Won't hurt to change it if you drop the box to change the dmf :y

I'd say more like the the spigot bearing in the end of the crank, otherwise it'd be the other way round. ;)
The other question is, when the DMF was changed for a solid flywheel, did you change the driven plate to one with a sprung hub to absorb transmission shocks?

New crankshaft bearing fitted
New reinforced C20LET clutch and pressure plate fitted
New slave cylinder with new clutch bearing fitted
Sound stops if i press the clutch, and get's very silent if I push the shifter forvards without pressing the clutch
Here's a video of the sound: http://s259.photobucket.com/user/Andygun89/media/MOV_0204_zpsb18ca4da.mp4.html

Sounds like it's from the gearbox itself in that case. Not sure if it'll be related to the jerky changes, though.
