:( yes done both and had breathers done or so the garage seid, :-X and i dont know if they used gm parts ither  :'( then oil filler neck seals leaked, then some round part underneth that started leaking ,but i think it could be the cam seals myself, cos its at the frunt and the back of eng and getting worse by the day. :'(

maybe they didnt use sealant on rear half round part of seal nor did they put sealant at front either side of cam--seen that before.

Have a go yourself mate. I did mine using the guide on my last omega, and if I can do it ......
Otherwise I'm sure a local ish member may be able to help. I would at least get a second opinion before dumping the engine  :(

Reckon the highlighted says it all fella. They were out of their depth, found it too hard and probably botched it! Why else would someone turn down work these days.

It maybe slightly cheaper to visit family friends further south, then pop in and have an OOF mechanic do it properly for you :y

If leaks are popping up all over the place it's a clear sign that the breathers are blocked.

Not a bad job to get it all back up to scratch and certainly no point in changing the engine, but you need to find someone who'll do the job properly. ;)

Like said sounds like a poor job done on your Cam Covers mate :(

What year is your car? as 2001 cars seem to have had poor quality stem seals fitted. This allows oil into the cylinders which will give a puff of smoke out of the exhaust.
