after reading on here about people useing flasks decided to dig mine out that had been in the kitchen for years so gave it a good wash out before useing.now iam a tea man so made me tea up and added the milk into the flask a few hours later when i came to drink it,it had a funny taste which made me remeber why i dont use a flask anymore.
so is there a secret to making good tea in a flask?
if you dont add the milk to the tea,how to you carry the milk and keep it fresh?

Agreed, although I tend to only drink tea with a greasy breakfast. ;) :y

Sorry, always tea for me. I would have taken some milk in either one of those plastic cups with lids, like Tupperware, or bought a small bottle ( pint? )from the shop. I never liked making it all in the flask either :(

Just fill it with boiling water then add tea and milk to cup. Tea is pants from a Flask.

To clean a flask out properly, add a teaspoon of bi-carb, fill with boiling water and leave to soak overnight, rinse out, and your tea should taste OK.

Only time I drink coffee is from a flask, tea from a flask makes me shudder, always drink freshly mashed tea, never coffee, at any other time, lots of it :y :y

Several years ago now, Sir Alec Fergusson took David Beckham on a shopping trip to Harrods as a treat
Eventually they got to the Thermos flask dept. & Beckham asked what they were & what they did
The Sales Assistant told him that they keep hot things hot & cold things cold, impressed Beckham bought one
The following Saturday, before the match, in the changing room, Beckham unpacked his bag carefully laying out his kit, towel etc. & his new Thermos flask
Sir Alec entered the room, saw the flask next to Beckham's kit & asked what was in it
Beckham relplied....................
A cup of coffee & a Choc Ice boss!

I was going to say the same or just leave it with hot water and add teabag and use small bottle of milk to take with you each day :y

A friend had a flask with a wide opening and she used to keep cooked sausages in it!! Great for picnics!! :y

results[which i know you have been waiting for]
cleaned the flasks with the bi carb and the one i made tea in still tasted funny so i think its to do with milk reacting in the flask
the other flask i just filled with hot water and was the best option for tea all day but iam sure that by the end of the day the milk was begining to go off[it was a hot day]
now iam not a fan of powdered milk so need some ideas how to keep a small bottle of milk cool without buying a big cool bag.

Crazy suggestion but.. a thermos flask? ;)
-
Wrap it in a wet towel.
As the water evaporates it cools the milk.
