Some W****R scraped the corner of my bumper in tesco car park yesterday, would love to find them and shoot them in front of their family >:(

You reduce risk best you can by parking away from others but the Tesco mob don't care and their driving skills leave a lot to be desired - at stations or elsewhere you find scratches on doors and bumpers that you have not been aware of - I just leave it now and polish out as best I can every 6 months or so.

but why will you always find some bugger parked next to you even if it was the only car on the car park when you left it? ??? ??? ???

The wife's Vectra got scraped whilst parked on the driveway recently! Apparently the gatepost jumped out and did it when she wasn't looking!! ::)

Yeah , I had to polish out a scrape along my wifes Freelander yesterday too after " a branch rubbed against it " ::)
My pet fear when out in any of the cars or van.
As suggested I park as far away from the insensitive masses as possible which inevitably results in abuse from my wife ::) as it means she has to walk more than ten paces to the shop doorway.
I have to admit that yesterday , for the first time , due to the carpark at our local supermarket being full because of on going construction I deliberatly parked in a bay and a half just to prevent damage that I saw being inflicted on three cars as I walked through to the shop.
I'm convinced people just do not care .............. >:(

It appears the more you fear something, the more likely it is going to happen. I see a lot of people whinging about the odd scrap here and there, but when I park up I never give the idea of someone damaging my car a thought. I park where there is a space, simple.
And I cannot ever remember getting a car scratched in a car park.

Thats because there's loads of parking available, due to the fact everyone's bombing up and down the Autobahn seeing how fast theirs cars can go before they blow up.

A laudable approach but as I can see from your details you don't live in Ireland .
PS I must get you to do my lottery tickets .....................

Aw unlucky mate, I never park next to anyone. I must walk miles to get to the shops from where I park... no wonder I'm so thin!
-
No matter where you park someone will always seek you out and park right next to you (usually to close) even in an empty car park miles from the shops really irritating but unfortunately the way it is :-\

It's easier for the hard of thinking - they can line up against your car rather than having to adjust their gaze down to the white lines and their mirrors...

Back to my car there was a cat next to me about 6"

I have to say I have a similar expiriance, the Omega i inherited had scrapes on both sides of the front bumper thanks to my Dads Stevie Wonder style parking.
Thankfully we have a family friend in the trade and he kindly sorted this and the rust on the front wings in one go.
