Title: I shouldn't have laughed
Post by: omegod on 10 April 2012, 20:29:06
Just turned on the living room ceiling light and flash pop the bulb blew out of the holder and landed on SWMBO's head....couldn't help myself!

No harm done, well not to me yet.

Anyone had these pop like this before?, the entire glass part( 40w screw in) has blown off intact leaving the screw part in the fitting

Hmm, if it's one of those new CFL bulbs you need to evacuate the room and, using suitable breathing filters, carefully remove the debris. This will then need to be disposed of in a manner approved by the local authority. (No, I'm not kidding!).

Whether this will requirement extends to SWMBO's head, I am unsure....  ;) ;) ;D

Normal old school bulb thankfully but I will tell her she needs to go and boil her head as a precaution :y

PMSL at you guys!!!

We've had a 30w low energy bulb go bang before now, that was pretty spectacular, luckilly the fizzing
noise coming from it was the cue to get well away from it just in time   :o

Is SWMBO talking to you/laying off the death threats yet?
