I've looked in the maintenance guide, was unable to find a guide on removing the seats :-\
If there is one, would you kindly pass the link on please?
I'm going to try out some mv6 seats I have and replace the leather in my Elite.
Is there anything I should know about BEFORE I attempt this?
I am aware that having the child seat sensors, I'm going to need a replacement SRS ECU. Can this be any ECU from an Omega without the child sensors or does it have to be a specific one?
TIA :y

You might get away with existing SRS ECU as long as you leave the CSS connector unplugged, if airbag light illuminates, you might be able to do a re-set (think Albs got away with a re-set). If not you`ll need a replacement ECU with the same 2-letter code but not configured for the CSS

Cheers for that Rob. With regard to the ECU (I didn't know about this before), I was told that if I leave it unplugged the ECU will be looking for it, can't "see" it and so will throw an error up? ???
Are the sensors on the rear seats only or the front passenger too?
I don't suppose you've got a step by step guide on taking the seats out too, do you ::) ;)

A high probability Dave. Sensor is only in the front passenger seat. Easy to remove, I find it easier to move both seats fully back and remove the front bolts (2 ea.seat). Move seats fully forward, disconnect battery, cup of tea. Remove rear bolts, tip seats back, disconnect all plugs (held in with different coloured clips), lift seats out.
Ideally source an SRS ECU without CSS config and preferably same 2-letter coding
Should have shouted before I sent mine to the scrappy :D

How, I didn't realise it was as straight forward as that :o Just 4 bolts and the plugs! Something that I can do then....hopefully ;D
As mine are Elite seats, will the wiring plugs be a straight swop with the mv6 one's, also, how much do the ECU's roughly go for?
Cheers mate :y

Plug straight in, ignore the yellow rectangular flat plug (CSS). Last ECU I sold for a tenner incl. postage.
Some say the Elite seats are heavy, never had a problem with them ;)

It's simple viper up until the point you realise someone has rounded of the bolts :'( :'( :-X

That`s what using the wrong size torx does :y

Don't say that ::) ;D ;D ;D
I actually bought a decent (for me anyway), Torx set a few months ago, so hopefully should get it right :o

I guess 'blackviper' has a facelift Elite with side air bags in the seats too?
If so the Mv6 seats should also be fitted with these, also very early Mv6 seats may have different belt tensioner set up.
If you do get to the stage where you need a replacement e.c.u. then I happen to have an s.r.s. e.c.u., it was removed from a facelift Elite without child seat sensor, available for £10 collected...

Cheers for that Rich. The mv6 seats I've got have the side airbags too :)
I'll check which letters are on the ecu this week hopefully and let you know. Rob says they need to be the same :y
Thanks for all your help guys :y

Well, I removed the front seats today, cheers for the guidance Rob :y
The SRS ECU will have to be changed though, as the airbag light is now on, but that was to be expected ::)
I've checked the one already installed and is showing the letters.... EF.
Rich, if your SRS ECU has the same letters and isn't configured for the child sensors, I'll have that off you please :y

Hi, I need to send my mig front seat to upholsterer to fix, and put it back, will I have that SRS ECU issue?

Not if you're putting the same seat back and you DO NOT reconnect the battery while the seat's out.
