Took the grandchildren to Poole skatepark last night. There were two 'boy racers' cars in the car park. I saw them fiddling with a petrol can in the boot of one car. A few minutes later the four yobs walk out onto the grass, spread petrol over the grass, and promptly set light to it. They then decide to leg it, leaving a burning mass on the green. Not only were the yobs stupid, but other youngsters passing on their bikes, probably attracted by the thick black smoke, then tried to stamp it out. This could have had dire consequenses, as the yobs had used rag as a fuse, and this must have stuck to a couple of the youngsters shoes, as they then started hopping about with flames around their shoes. Luckily an adult came from the cycle track carrying a bucket of I suspect sand and put the fire out. >:(
Thing is...is this a 999 situation or not. By the time anyone would have got there, the fire was out, and the yobs gone. I took the number of the red Saxo, and part of the number of the black Corsa.
I think there should be a secondary number that is nationwide, like, say, 777 for these type of situations. How the heck are you supposed otherwise to contact the police. ???
These yobs, who can afford to throw a gallon of petrol over a public place are probably the same yobs that set off the heathland around here >:(
Is this worth reporting, or just shrugging off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it doesnt hurt to report it and maybe one day they do something far more serious and the only info they get is part of the reg and colour or just the colour and your report could help to tie that car to similar incidents,i would report the buggers :y

I remember thinking "That's a good idea!" at the time for the same reasons you mentioned :)
And yep - probably the same yobs who set the heath down the bottom of my parent's road on fire a few times a year, it seems.. bring back national service, that'd keep 'em busy!*
*he says, now he's safely too old to have to do national service.
