Title: Removal - Facelift Front Seats
Post by: blackviper90210 on 13 April 2012, 20:42:52
Hope this is some help OOF :y

Step 1: Move the seat right back exposing the 2 Torx bolts on the seat rails, and remove.

Step 2: Move the seat right forward, exposing 2 more Torx bolts in the rails.

Step 3: I found it easier to remove this screw and remove the plastic trim, allowing easy access to the plugs/wiring down the side of the seat.

Step 4: Disconnect the battery and make a brew, BEFORE you unclip any of the plugs! Allow for 15mins at least.

Step 5: Tilt the entire seat backwards allowing easy access to the plugs. You will see yellow and red locking tabs, remove these and unclip the plugs.

Step 6: Withdraw the seat from the car. Be careful though, as these seats are fairly heavy, so mind the paintwork :y
At this point, your interior should look like this! Now is an ideal time to get the hoover and soapy water to all the parts usually out of reach!

Job done. ;)

Refitting is, as they say in the Haynes Manual, the reverse :)

Manual seats aren't bad. The electric ones are defo heavier. Especially trying to manoeuvre it into the car in its flat position. This was the only way to remove it from the donor as a clit with no wheels had been dumped rather close:)

If your fitting the Elite seats into a lesser spec car you'll need the torx bolts from the Elite car as they are longer :y

Hopefully you havnt had the same disaster i had when i removed my seats - I (somehow!) pulled the captive bolt off from inside the floor pan so had to get the section sliced open and welded back up again  :'(

Would have been cheaper to have got the garage to fit them in the first place!!!
