any help gratefully received as not mechanically minded... but garage cant find fault and dont want to get rid of car as love it and cannot afford too.. misfiring and loss of power for first few minutes of driving then clears and runs fine, garage said throttle housing, changed that no different.. also no codes showing any problem, hope this sounds clear, as i say not car minded but tried best to explain fault, many thanks.

Like to know how they thought throttle body on a missfire!
Checked the spark plug wells for water/oil?
Has the cam sensor been changed from its original?
-
afraid do not know answer to those questions... will ring them tomorrow and ask dont suppose you know of omega garage in essex/london as mine doesnt seem great with it but as i said earlier i know nowt about cars.. thanks
-
I would look at it for you, but I have zero tools in London :(
Another thought, are you using coolant? How often do you top it up?
Next time I am back at my parents, I will chuck some tools in the boot. Do you get over to west London much?
-
yes keep it topped up... thats a very kind offer but i wouldn,t want to put you to that much trouble its just the garage keep saying try this try that and it all costs loads and they seem to have no idea what it is which is why i ended up here looking for maybe some advice or reccomend a omega specialist garage who may recognise problem.. thanks so much anyway

But as Tunnie says, are you actually losing coolant and having to top-up on a regular basis
-
no coolant level stays o.k. THANKS
-
Well that's good that coolant is not leaking, it's either going to be sensor related. Or you have fluid in the plugs. A "specialist" Omega garage is going to be rare, why not pick up some basic tools and have a go yourself? It's very, very easy to check the basics, especially on a 2.2 :y

If you havent made any progress by the end of this coming week I could probably have a look for you.

Well,I will be at work - 10 minutes from Chelmsford,so OP could maybe pop over and see me and I can have a gander.Im more comfortable with V6,s than 4 pots tbh,but can have a look for the obvious things and then read the codes with o***m and hopefully make some progress.
Only thing is it will be night time - after 7.30pm,but hopefully have some daylight and dry weather left.If not,may be able to poke the front of it inside a building for some light and cover.
