well for those of you that looked at my first post on the bad experience i had at my local dealer here is part 2,
As said my motability car was delivered without parking sensors as ordered no problem said the dealer we can fit them. well NO
duly booked in today took it in at 8am ready to pick up at 12pm. called in at 12.30 only to be told it will be another hour, This is the start of the slippery slope two hours later the car rolls out from the workshop with four parking sensors that stevie wonder had painted white to match the car,the car was wet so i drove it home and didnt check before i left big mistake got home only to see three sensors as one had fell of on the way home a hole that had been cut with a file so was oblong and not round hence the sensor fell out, upon further inspection found where they had slipped with the drill and tried to cover it up,
so back to the dealer post haste steam from both ears to be given an appology and said its never happend before now it needs a new bumper another set of sensors and a bumper repaint and people ask why i never used to use main dealers.
anyway does anyone know if my sensors are genuine vauxhall as the pcb pack says META
>:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I doubt VX use META. They also do after market alarms I'm guessing their to small to be able to cope with a GM's demands to supply all models. You have been soundly seen off by the dealer. I'd be contacting mobility and seeing if they can help
-
been onto motability with views about returning the car as one of the reasons i went for the vauxhall was the sensors with a visual display as i am profoundly deaf reversing beeps are no good.
so lets just watch this space as the car i had a test drive in had factory sensors and a visual display.

The Vx aftermarket ones are Meta :y

Standard factory fit park pilot does not have a visual display.....the meta system can have an optional display added. The Astra J bumpers are bloody thick and hence you have to trim the 'ears' on the meta system sensor parts or they dont clip in fully....the result is they fall out!
-
glad you put that i was going to contact meta tomoro to check,
-
So if you order a car with parking sensors does it come with ones which are different than if you walk in to a main dealers and ask to buy a retro fit kit? I only ask as META parking kits are only about 20 quid if you shop around yet a main agent will want 5 times that
-
vx dealer charged same price as factory fit, ????

You cant get Meta parking sensors for 20 quid!
You can get cheapo chinese units for that.
Cant recall who make the factory installed kit but its not the same as the aftermarket one.

Bosch? Was on Omega and Vec-C :)

Motorbility say that we as dealers have to use Meta sensors which are, well lets say not that good.
But besides that it does sound like they had the tea boy fitting your ones
Hope you get sorted and please remember we are not all bad :y
Cheers
Andy

Think its just my local dealer Tbh andy, I have used meta as alarms on a bike before and found them to be good.I took the car to an independent auto electrician for a report as when i now engage reverse the fuse blows.
Its just a bad job all round

Wondered if it was a local dealer, or further away.
I found that the spanner monkeys at the smaller branch, before it closed, seemed to have some understanding. The larger branch, nah, although parts weren't too bad.

If that was the car you were shown or the spec provided is what was needed for your disability and not what you were provided with you should reject the car, sadly you have taken delivery.....you really need to have a proper discussion with Motability, as the car does not meet your needs then the contract should be cancelled. imo go and check out Citroen..... :y :-[ :-[ :-[

Name and shame time TB it was forest gate Kettering motability have given me the option to return it so I think that's the road to go down, went out in a Nissan quash qui yesterday not a big lover of 4x4 cars but it does have a 360deg camera, not heard much about them any views ???

Glad i only buy parts from and didnt let them loose on cambelt...

They're the ones that charged me £250 to fix my mig and didn't spot the plug wells full of oil! >:(
-
Well good news motability are taking the car back as its no longer fit for purpose. And even better vauxhall customer services have been on wanting me to e mail some pics to which I have done and the Astra gets returned tomorrow.
Back on the hunt for another car.
-
Will you be still looking for a VX?
-
No way not after this fiasco Nissan quashqui I think gona have a drive in one tomorrow ticks all the boxes,

Only some are 4x4 and not the ones on the scheme, unless you want to pay a huge deposit, I agree though, a lovely car, I had a long test drive in one and then got a Citroen...... :D :D :D
-
Not bothered about 4x4 just that it seems to suit my needs having 360deg camera on parking. I am looking at the Ntec plus 1.5dci. I waited 12 weeks for the Astra FFs Nissan are saying 4 weeks on factory build so that's better.
-
What about the ford kuga ?
-
Deposits on the kuga are too high Martin.
