Title: Wanted: F/L estate aerial with GPS/GSM etc.
Post by: Mr Hagon on 26 April 2012, 00:16:26
As you can see from the picture below the rubber surround on the base of my aerial has perished and has led to GPS giving up on me and the sat nav.  As a replacement from Vx isn't cheap, does anyone have one spare  ::).

The car is dated March 2002 which makes me think it's late enough to need the multiplug connector.  I expect the donor car will need to be an estate Elite as I have NCDC 2015 + telematics.

As you probably know, you can't just buy a new gasket from Vx for these, and as you say, you would need an estate version if you were to replace it.  It's worth dropping out the boot light from the headlining and checking which connector you have, as I have seen sto quite late cars still having the co-ax style connectors.

If it is only the GPS that has failed, you may want to consider fitting an aftermarket GPS aerial.  They are only about £5 from ebay, very easy to fit, and work very well.  Have a search around on the forum for details.
