Well i've just serviced the car a few weeks ago with new GM parts ie plugs , air filter , oil and filter etc and tonight on the way home from work ive got a mis-fire from cylinder 3. >:(
Only seemed to mis-fire under load though .
There was virtually no oil in the wells at all so i can only assume ive got a duff plug .
It did seem to cure itself after another mile or two but i suppose thats the journey for its mot tomorrow out the window untill i find out more about whats going on .
Wouldnt be good mis-firing away on the mot ramp ::)
Should have just left the old plugs in there >:(

Well thats spark plug no 3 changed so the journey to work will hopefully be mis-fire free .. the one that came out looked ok :-\.. if not would the next step be the coil pack ?

Have you tried swapping the 'duff' plug to another pot Proz? If it is duff then the fault will show up on the 'new' cylinder, if not then the plug would appear to be OK :-\ I'm assuming that they were all torqued in correctly & then rechecked for tightness after a hot run? Apologies if the words Granny & suck eggs apply, didn't mean it that way ;D :y

Mmm no i never thought about just swapping to another pot ... maybe that would have been a better idea .
It was my code reader that said P0303 if i remember correctly .... but defo said something about cylinder 3.
I also didnt realise they were meant to be checked for tightness after a hot run , i just threw them in and tightned up although not too tight :y
I have a large torque wrench but not a small scale one .
Anyway i've had no mis-fire on the 10 mile journey to work so hopefully its been something wrong with the plug .

are the coil pack rubbers split and perished?...mine were and that caused the same prroblem as your having...bought a new coil pack kit n has been reet as rain ever since.. :)

The rubbers look in really good condition , no splits at all .
Just returned from nightshift and the car was fine to and from work so hopefully its just been the plug :y
