Title: replacing seat motor?

How easy or better say hard is it to replace the seat motor, passenger seat won't go anywhere on buttons, drivers side is working ok.
Also are there different types of seat motors or they are all the same

check wires first before removing or replacing motor, can get caught up in the seat runner.

can you hear the motor ???  the usual culprits for a stuck seat is coins in the runners  :y

I'd guess an Elite has more than one motor to adjust the seat, one for back and forth, another for up and down, etc...
It's unlikely that all motors have failed so as said by 'freecall', check for other causes, although I'd expect severed wires to blow a fuse resulting in the drivers seat not working too...

Well a small update on the story.
didn't manage to do anything about removing the seat yet, but I've rechecked the seat and found some clues.
The seat seems to be locked in the highest position.
When pressing the button to lower it nothing happens.
But when I press the button for the seat to go up I can notice that the CID dimms slightly (engine is off, only the ley is turned to position 2) so evidently there is current going on to the switch but seat doesn't go anywhere cause it is un highest position).
I've tried to feel the wires behind the switch (cannot see them) and there seems to be 2 of them.
Not sure how many there should be but can anyone share this info?
Also does anyone kow is there a manual way of lowering the seat?

i would firstly take out the switch from the seat and check there also if a scrappies near you get a replacement switch to try  :y

you'll find that the following works......

drive it at night - can you see the headlamps dimming when you attempt to move the seat. If so, the drive mechanism has stuck, which is very common for these.

remove the seat ( use the guide ) and manually twist the threaded rod with a pair of self-tightening pliers, just far enough to move it a bit - you don't need to go through the full range of movement

re-fit, taking care not to damage the wiring connectors.
