also based on years, not just mileage. 40k or 4 years, which ever is first.
-
... take it easy till you get it done . Better still dont use the car if your worried about it and wait till the spanner man comes to change it :)

Please tell me you're changing the water pump too :y

Its not cam belt driven and if its ok why change it,4 pot is a different matter, should be replaced regardless.

As your stripping down to that level, you might as well for the small ish cost. Although only Aux belt driven, if it does seize Aux belt can cause some considerable damage in the engine bay, no to mention possible over-heating issues.

Gm pump is expensive and aftermarket quality sometimes questionable which is why I would leave if good :y

I wouldn't bother with the water pump, based on recent experience. Changed mine at the 120k cam belt change only to have the seal on the (admittedly pattern) part fail after 2 weeks. Original part was perfectly OK. There have been one or two other reports of replacement pumps failing early too. Against that, how long do the original pumps last? Well past 93k, I reckon.
It isn't going to kill anything if it fails on a V6, so personally, I'd leave it in future. If you're paying someone to do the stripping down anyway, you might take a different view, but it's hardly a huge job to change it on a V6 if it fails later.

My mistake, I had it in my head that this was a 2.2 :-[
Agreed with other posters, if V6, and the original pump is genuine and OK, it can generally be left safely alone :y

Guess for V6 owners its changed, as the pump on genuine used to be only around £40, understand its a lot more now. :(

have got water pump shall i change that or leave it alone if not broke :-\ :-\ mine the 2.0 not the v6 shown on side ,i have changed this in profile still says 3.0 under junior member ?? dont know whos end that is :-[ ...

You have now ;D

If it's a 2.0, then you must change the water pump with the cam belt.

It certainly is! I had to buy one a couple of weeks ago. £78 inc vat was the TC price :'(
I'm still arguing with a certain well known supplier of aftermarket parts whose pump failed on me after 20 months and about 6k miles. They are stating a 12 month warranty on parts - which needless to say I am taking issue with. I will report on my findings when the matter is concluded.
