...under the proposed change, drafted by the European Commission and due to take effect within the next two years, the [EU] flag would have to fly permanently outside any organisation which managed development funding from Brussels.
...civil servants advised that, as drafted, it would mean more than 1,000 bodies being forced to comply, including Cambridge University, Jamie Oliver’s 15 restaurant in Cornwall and The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, known as the ‘home of snooker’.

Its the Daily Mail, which is reliable as a pattern cam cover gasket. ::)
-
Its actually one of the more reliable rags Tunnie (which isnt saying much I know),but of course the lefties who run everything in this country seem to have convinced everyone that it is the worst excuse for a newspaper in the world due to the fact it is unashamedly right wing.
It even has a column on page two everyday to correct and apoligise for any factual errors which have come to light from previous stories. The worst of the British press by a very very long way is the section of it owned by your uncle Rupert. ;)
The Mail and the Telegraph are the only papers I will have in the House. Now if we want to talk about truly awful newspaper which purport to be a serious publication lets talk about The Gaurdian. ::)

Let's not just talk about it, let's see if we can spell it ;D

May I assume 59 that, in essence, you consider this to be a bad idea? ;D ;D

Well...we can't fly the flag of saint George cause that's racist. Union jack is no good cause the Scottish bit will need to come out soon. I think possibly the jolly roger would be the best option for this government.
-
It,s a joke that we can,t fly our national flag in our own country cause we might offend other cultures. If they don,t want to obey our laws, DONT COME HERE.
-
It's a flag. Who cares? Whether it be EU, St. Georges or anything else.
How about no flags?
How about the only flag you are allowed to fly is that of the country, in any EU country, and EU flag only flying outside EU buildings.

A reasonable viewpoint V6 but I think the issue here is (if there is any substance to the allegations) the likelihood of another cadre of bureaucracy having to be funded to enforce the new rules and, the rather sinister development of a largely unelected and unaccountable body having the executive power - by dint of legislation - to levy financial penalty against those who did not follow the directives.
Just sayin' - 'sall :y

Quite right too!! After all when you pay the better half of £10 bill a year to be a member of their club, the least we can do is show abit of solidarity and wear the badges and fly the flag!! ::)

They say you can when a business is in trouble by the new marble floor and fountain in the headquarter's foyer and new logo and rebranding of the company. ::) ::) ::)
So, while the fools are trying to make us believe how wonderful the EUSSR is with their propaganda videos and flag waving, the project is failing. :y :y :y
Next, they will have us waving flags and crying on the streets, North Korea style, everytime there is a new Euro financial crisis, that will guarantee a flag waving show of EUSSR and Euro solidarity 5 days a week, while the markets are open, and maybe a bit on Staurday and Sunday as well when the odd weekend crisis surfaces. :o :o :o :o

If an organisation received funding from them then why not? many organisations have had to put funders / sponsors logos on their letterhead, is this any different?

The last time I looked the EU was not a commercial organisation. The UK gives has given funding to many countries, such as China and Argentina. Do you think we should retrospectively demand that they fly the Union flag above their government buildings? ;) ;D ;D

If you had funding from the EU Social Fund you had to put their logo on your paperwork, similarly with funding from One North East which was EU Funded...........just asking, and to your question, perhaps the answer should be yes.... :-\ :-\

I would wonder just how much of such funding is actually our own money given to the EU by way of our required financial contribution to it - would we not be better off keeping the money and making it available from our own treasury?
In doing so, this vexed question of flags would be knocked into a cocked bowler hat.
Just sayin’ Mike – that’s all. :-* :-*
