Title: Symbian S60 Satnav
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 30 April 2012, 20:54:29
My partner has donated me her old Samsung i8910 which runs Symbian S60

I really want to get some sort of satnav working on it, TOMTOM would be great, but anything would do. I really like OVI maps on my Nokia E5, I have tried to get this working, and despite many forums saying it can be done, I can't seem to do it.

Can anyone help me get some kind of Satnav working on my phone?

Thanks :y :y

I bought Navcore for Symbian, purely as it was the cheapest way to get a BT GPS unit.

Sadly, think I binned the s/w long ago. I think. But it would be too old anyway.

Cheers TB. More than happy to buy software from any recommended provider, that's not the issue - just not sure where to start :D

A 256Mb RS-MMC with NaviCore on. Box reckons its 2006/1 for S60, so quite old.

Guess so, but if you're passing, you're welcome to it. No BT GPS unit, I'm keeping that ;)

Cheers mate, will bear in mind.

I came through Brackley on Saturday hoping to get some LPG. Saw the price of it, and decided I'd be best to stay on petrol ;D

79.9p here. S'not too bad, problem is dealing with the retards when you try to pay. Next time they ask if I want a coffee to take away, they'll be in A&E with scauld burns around their ringpieces where they have consumed said coffee anally.  FFS, surely they can see I am alone in the rather car, and that drinking coffee whilst driving is irresponsible.

Rant over

James, I used to use Nokia N70/N80 which used Symbian S60, back in 2005/6 I used to use it for Sat Nav.

It worked quite well, I think I still have it somewhere, along with USA mapping  :-\
