As title
Is there any 2391 sparkys on here that live up my way ?
I've got first refusal on a rewire but need a ticket for the job :y
I can't get on a rather course until after summer :'(
-
My luck is changing ::) :y
Just been round some of the wholesalers to get upto date prices on cable and other bits and bobs and bumped into a face I hadn't seen in 20 years :y
When I started out in business back in 92, I took on 2 17 year old apprentices who used to work for me on a new housing site I had at the time.
One was a complete w*nker who squared upto me in the middle of this site and was very rapidly put on his arse and then sacked ;)
The other lad (martin) turned out to be a good lad and I kept him with me for 6 months.
When the site finished then I had to let him go due to lack of work :( :(
He still helped me out with guvvie's when I needed another pair of hands ;)
Well Martin is no longer a spotty faced streak of pish anymore, he is about 6ft 4 and built like a brick sh*t house ;D ;D
We got talking and he said he heard I had gone under and asked what I was going to do.
I told him I was starting up again and told him about the trouble getting things certified until I have the funds to do the 2391 corse.
With that, his face lit up and it turns out he as finished the corse last year and has offered to cover my work (at 50 quid for a full ticket) until I can get my own sorted :y :y :y
rather happy days ;D ;D ;D
Only problem is .................. the cheeky tinker says I have to make HIM the tea's ::) ::)

Oh, I thought you were after an awfully large (and specific) number of sparkys. World record attempt or something...

My first trip to tech stores was for 3 metres of fallopian tubeing, and yes I fell for it too ::) :-[ :-[

Long stands, and tartan paint.
I got off lightly though - one of our apprentices had left his last job after being hung from the car lift by his overalls...

Wimp ::)
For my 18th, the bast*rds jumped me and rammed a broom handle down one sleave of my overalls and out of the other then hoisted me up by block and tackle and left me dangleing from the hanger rafters for half a hour :(
The Sengo came out and asked what was happening.
One of the lads explaned that is was my birthday so he just laughed and walked off :o :o
Bloody officers ::) ;D ;D ;D
Good job I only weighed about 11 stone in them days :D :D

The kettle is safe as houses for sparkie's, every other trade is responsible for themselves ;D ;D
