...... for a few hundred yards.
mate @ work did this (prat). basically the handbrake now only comes on for 1 click. apparently there was a clunk. is this just a handbrake cable adjustment or have i got to mess about with the shoes?
-
If there was a "clunk" I'd suspect that the rear shoes have popped out of wherever they are supposed to be located given the handbrake only goes to one notch.

Aye aye, we see your motivation here :P ;)
IIRC Saxos have full drums on the rear (no discs) but aside from that it ought to be similar.. though I believe they have self adjusters made of chocolate that have a tendency to disintegrate..

Hahahaha yup, she's not bad at all ;)
So it should just be a case of backing off the adjuster a bit? which should be located TDC?
Cheers.

EDIT....
Slacken off the HB Cable first? :)

Webby, saxo's suffer with the lining material detaching from the brake shoe itself,to get the drums off you need to remove the pressed metal centre cap and use a 32mm socket to undo the hub nut(it will be tight) then carefully try and remove the drum to expose the shoes, sadly a ridge of corrosion on the drum will probably try and stop you doing this so you can try and back of the adjusters, two different types can be fitted, ratchet or screw type. You will have to turn the drum while peering through the wheel bolt holes with a torch to find which type is fitted.
Good luck :D
Edit if you are really unlucky the wheel bearing sometimes gets seized to the stub axle,a world of pain often follows ::)
