hello, can somebody describe the proceedure to adjust the rear tierods?
obviously you turn the hex piece in the centre but do you have to loosen the 22mm big hexes at either end or are these to counter hold for the centre adjuster hex-so dont move?
thanks
Alex

I think you have to loosen off the bigger hex nuts as they lock up the whole assembly before you start on that centre adjuster.
You might also find that the centre adjuster (and those lock nuts) have totally rusted up. I had to take them off the car and free them off with heat, a big vice and an extension bar!! That was fun :(

Big nuts for locking, middle one for adjusting :)

yep mine are seized solid front & rear!!
alot easyer on a ramp as you can get more leaverage but be careful not to strip the bolt heads as you will then have to replace all of it!!
try WD40 over night then heat & more WD over & over again, brake fluid is great for seized bolts etc!!

yeah i rem when i did the last seized set of trackrods on a E36 bmw i used GT85 not wdpisswater & old brake fluid to disolve the rust plus getting the rods cherry red with a blow torch! there is a new can of stuff called "freeze ya nuts off" If u get the rod end red hot & use the spray can on the rod center to instant cool it the contraction effect unseizes it very well..
"plusgas" yes is very good tho if you've got any but ive found with anything seized you need to remove the surface rust off 1st so it can penitrate properly! :y
& also when you do undo them you dont want rusty crap wreckin the thread..
