Title: CDX door
Post by: brassedoff on 04 May 2012, 19:51:18
Hi I am having a problem with my Omega CDX estate passenger door which seems to be completely locked solid no give in the button!!!! had panel off which is difficult with the door locked, tried fuses etc...but nothing seems to work (thought it would have failed safe open)
Anyone any ideas before I hit it with a hammer!!!! the rest of the car is excellent.
Hope someone can come up with something :'(

Sounds like the locking motor has failed in the deadlocked position. I would persevere with pulling the button up while trying the handle. Use some mole grips or similar. If that fails, have a look inside at the lock mechanism. Firstly try a squirt of penetrating oil over the mechanism in case it has siezed.

Failing that, you should see the black locking motor with a white plastic pin on the top which activates a lever on the lock mechanism above. You might be able to reach in and break off the white plastic part to free the locking mechanism.
