push in tabs, and twist fuel filter and it should then pull out :y
-
You need three hands if you haven't got the correct pliers.
And wear your safety goggles Mr Bear, you WILL get petrol in your face.
-
And don't have a fag in your mouth while your doing it ;) :D :D

Hahaha cheers guys, yep defo wearing goggles after last week's little episode ::)
is it likely that it will be difficult... reason i ask is cos i'm frightened of giving it some stick for breaking something.
but thanks chaps, will try again tomorrow :y

This happend to me could not get the filter off
ending up cutting the filter out and making it up with 8mm plumbing fittings and pipe
yet some filters come straight off.

Just had another go. Nope this fekker aint coming out for shizzle >:( >:( >:( >:( I've also broke the outer clip. I made a makeshift tool with two bolts that press in the clips but nope. won't move.
SO
Decided that I can't be arsed with shredding my fingers and getting covered in fuel so moved on to timing belt. Got the bagpipes out, then got called out so thats as far as i got. gonna be a blast :y

There is an insert that sits inside the fitting and clips onto the ridge on the fuel filter. Once you have it out and in your hand it all makes sense.
It took me two days (on and off) to get mine off last time so I took photos for next time.
I wonder where I put the photo..............

Cheers Andy, i hate being stumped by something that should be so simple! >:(

Is this the breaker, or your real car? I have the pliers here if you need it changed on your proper car

...but i cant get this off...
That's the thing with mechanics, even easy jobs can be a pain if you come up against rust or age!
Most things that are held on by fiddly plastic clips respond well if you first firmly push together the connection, then manipulate the locking tabs whilst wiggling the assembly, then pull apart...

I hope I haven't reduced these photos too much......
