Are they the same between Saloon & Estate? :-\

Are they the same between Saloon & Estate? :-\
I wouldn't think so. I'd expect the estate's to be shorter
-
I see RobG has some for sale, but not sure differences :-\ - I know springs are taller, but not sure if shocks would just automatically adjust to saloon/estate :-\
Just took motherT's estate to do a run, something is seriously wrong with back suspension. Come off a bump & the nearside rear keeps on bouncing half a mile down the road :o ;D
If one shock looses pressure, does that result in SL system shutting down? (not hearing the pump make any noise)
Looks like the shocks are feked (never changed in our ownership) they are leaking fluid & they look far too low for me.
Jacked up the rear to take a look:

Offside not jacked up, but looks a little low? (not got much experience with SL stuff)

Letting the nearside down again...

Either way these shocks look like they have better days!

Saloon,s are different from estates as I found out when dealer supplied me incorrect parts a few years ago.

Dealer only :y £100 each :'( might be best to renew top mount gubbins at same time :-\
IIRC PM Jimbob for details :y

around £75 on Trade Club though :y :y

I'll have a pair of known good ones (about 3 years old IIRC) for an Estate up for sale soon ::)

Thanks Andy, was not sure on the price. Not too bad, considering this is the first time I've touch anything suspension wise on the estate since we bought it around 4 years ago now.
Bolts soaked in WD40, hopefully give it some time to soak in.

Top nuts should be OK, they're sheltered from the element up in the wing/boot. The bottom bolts can be tight though. :y

Yeah, from past experience I've learned to wire brush the thread as well, which is exposed. Otherwise it pulls the dirt through!

You're learning! :y :y :y
I recently had to swing of my breaker bar for each turn of the bolt removing one of them. T'other came out a piece of the proverbial. ;)

Not going to be that soon... Not got the pennies for the replacement shocks/springs for a few weeks at least :'(

When we had our Elite estate I had the SL shox changed as we were towing a caravan whose jockey wheel was getting lower and lower! Got them through Trade Club, £75 sounds about right. I think the compressor is at the front, so make sure all the pipework is not leaking; also, I seem to recall there is a level sensor switch near the back axle that switches the pump on and off to maintain the level. You can check if its working if you're loaded up at the back by parking up and going for a coffee, come back and start up and see if the gap between the tyre and wheel arch increases as the car self levels. Regards, Chris

Ordered them today, £75 each + vat.
Must get this fixed by end of the month, otherwise motherT will not be pleased! ;D
