Hi all, I'm 21 from Swansea and back in January I bought my 3L Elite V6 off my father as he changed cars and I couldnt refuse the chance to buy the car off him for just £800, he was a member on here but didnt post regularly (Big Bri).
He bought the car in March 2008 and in that time we have done many jobs including discs and pads all round, rear shocks and springs, front track rods, steering idler, wishbones, many services, timingbelt, tensioners and water pump, cam cover gaskets, cleaned the breathers and loads more I have missed.
I am a mechanic for a Jaguar specialist and am currently getting the car to my liking cosmetically and mechanically, before this I owned an ex police Vectra SRi V6.
Thought I would join the forum and say hello.

Hello, welcome to the forum :y

Hello and welcome. 3 litre manual is good fun, and pretty rare to find a manual box in an elite
-
Thanks for the welcome, my father was lucky when he first found the car as he found it accidentally for £1800 or thereabouts so we made a trip up to Manchester to buy it, it is very easy to get sideways which is great fun down the country lanes at night when you can see if there is anything coming around the bends, performance is good for such a large car and it does disappoint a fair few people who try it on in their so called hot hatches, I definitely prefer this over most of the Jaguars that I work on whilst in work.

Nice to see our younger generation on here theres a few of us on here now :y :y

Thanks for the welcomes, I never have been a fan of the cars that most people of my generation drive, no matter what I buy insurance is going to be expensive so I'd rather buy a car of a nice size with decent performance than pay through the nose for a small hatchback, Not really a fan of many cars other than Vauxhalls either.

I had a similar attitude when I was your age. My first big car was a V8 Rover SD1 when I was about 20 and my mates were driving stuff like Novas and mk3 Escorts. Showing my age a bit admitting that, when was the last time you saw a SD1???
-
I used to see a black V8 SD1 quite regularly when I was doing my BTEC in college, I finished that about 3 years ago now and haven't seen it since.
