Unfortunatly its just a cycle and pedestrian bridge you have to go get your wheels wet wether you like it or not  :y :D

It's interesting that the depth gauge at the side of the road goes to 6 feet. Would it be necessary to read the gauge if the river/ford was 6 feet deep to know whether it was possible to cross?  ::) ::) ::)

I think you could safely say that the precise depth of the water at that level would be the least of your problems a) if you were stood in that spot, b) sat in your car or c) on the bridge on a bike  :(
Great photos and location - defintely go for the action shot though  ;)
